Jacquees Thomas

Jacquees Thomas (also known in her neighborhood as, Peace) is a multifaceted artist whose journey spans the realms of filmmaking, storytelling, and podcasting. With a passion for exploration and a deep-seated belief in the power of narrative, she has carved a unique path in the world of media production and post-production.

Her artistic odyssey began with creating her debut film, *Ichiban*, a project that marked her entry into independent filmmaking. Since then, she has championed numerous productions, is an autodidact in editing, is a current member of MPEG, a Producer for the Black Effect Network, and is writing her first dramatic novella.

As an avid traveler, Jacquees draws inspiration from diverse cultures and landscapes worldwide. These experiences enrich her artistic vision and infuse her work with depth of perspective and a universal appeal.

Throughout her life, Jacquees has been a vocal advocate for representation and inclusivity in the arts. Her mission is clear: to empower black female queer artists by challenging stereotypes and celebrating the richness of their stories. She firmly believes that these narratives not only deserve to be told but are essential for fostering progress and understanding in society.

During the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Jacquees turned to the written word for solace and inspiration. This resurgence sparked the creation of *BLK LIT”, a podcast dedicated to amplifying the voices of writers and literature enthusiasts alike.
Through insightful discussions and engaging storytelling, the podcast aims to become a vibrant community and sanctuary for those who share her passion for literature and protecting our stories.

Jacquees continues to push boundaries and defy conventions, armed with a sincere determination to reshape perceptions and elevate marginalized voices in the arts.
